Tauren Paladins?

Holy Cow! (Be warned: Massive potential spoilers for the next expansion.)

To be honest, I've always thought Tauren would make good paladins. They have a certain nobility. Hopefully they become more Silver Hand-style paladins rather than Blood Knights.

  9. I think it is rather more like an American Indian in the days of General Custer suddenly wanting to be a Bishop in the Christian church - kind of unlikely.

  10. Agree with Vlad. I don't like the clash between medieval Christian and Native American vibes. I hope Blizzard takes some time to reconcile the two in the Tauren lore.

  11. sorry but to me it doesnt seem that tauren have the background lore for paladins... they have a more druidic culture than say the humans and other paladin races.

  12. I don't think that Tauren culture fits paladins. For example, an militaristic Order of tauren paladins like the Blood Knights would be out of place.

But on an individual level, I think the tauren exemplify the personal traits of paladins. They are honorable, martial, and are be willing to sacrifice.

It's not hard to imagine individual taurens following Tirion Fordring and joing the Argent Crusade.

  13. For Rohan:
Other folks have commented that paladins (frequently thought of as martyrs and fanatics) don't fit with the "hippy cow" mentality of the Tauren. But the Grimtotem prove that Tauren can have a bit of fanaticism to them and with the Cataclysm shattering Azeroth is it understandable it will shake up everyone's world and that side of the Taurens will come a bit more to the front.

  14. Good news! In cataclysm, Tauren can be both Priests and Paladins by worshiping their sun god!
